H.E.Dr. Ziad Abu Amr

Dr. Ziad Abu Amr is a distinguished Palestinian politician, author, and reform advocate, currently serving as president representative of the State of Palestine and an independent member of the PLO Executive Committee. Born in Gaza City in 1950, he earned a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Damascus University and a Ph.D. in Comparative Politics from Georgetown University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Abu Amr has held prominent positions, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Culture, where he significantly contributed to strengthening Palestinian diplomatic and cultural representation. A member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) since 1996, representing Gaza City, he has been a key figure in legislative development and reform initiatives.
Dr. Abu Amr is widely respected for his ability to mediate between major Palestinian factions, helping to foster dialogue and unity during critical moments. He has authored several works on Palestinian politics and Arab culture, earning recognition for his intellectual contributions. His efforts to promote peace, reform, and governance have solidified his reputation as a reformist leader within Palestinian politics.
